Establish Proof of Concept
Does your research have commercial potential? Are you ready to establish the technical feasibility of your project?
The vision of the BioInnovation Institute (BII) is to help build viable start-ups in health tech, bio-industrials and therapeutics to benefit human welfare and society and embraces every phase of a life-science start-up journey towards the initial fundraising.
The Proof of Concept (PoC) program
The Proof of Concept (PoC) program is for researchers whose next step is to establish their project’s preliminary proof of concept. Only projects intended to lead to the development of new products or applications are eligible for the PoC program.
The PoC program runs over a maximum period of 12 months, and projects are awarded a grant to cover expenses such as patent applications, research activities and development of prototypes for up to DKK 1 mio.
The BII community
A committee will evaluate all projects based on criteria such as the applicants’ scientific excellence, suggested approach for further development and significance and originality of the idea.
During the PoC program project teams remain at their current host institution but all become part of the BII community, which gives access to a large network of investors, mentors, subject matter experts, scientists and other projects and companies engaged in entrepreneurship and life sciences globally.
In addition to the PoC program, BII offers two additional programs, the Business Acceleration Academy and the incubator, the Creation House. For both programs, preliminary technical proof of concept is a requirement.
